FAQ: General questions regarding "StudyProf Flash Cards 1.0"

Which subjects is StudyProf recommended for?
StudyProf is an exact digital image of a real card box, which means you can use it to study basically any subject. StudyProf has a great advantage over paper cards: It helps you manage your card stacks much more easily and reminds you automatically of due reviews. Thus you can concentrate on your studies without having to deal with distracting hassles such as study schedules. Besides, StudyProf makes it easy to exchgange your study stacks with friends and colleagues. StudyProf is highly recommended for studying law, medicine and foreign languages as well as any other subjects.

Which are the system requirements for StudyProf?
To ensure a stable performance of StudyProf, your system should meet the following requirements:

FAQ: Questions concerning the trial/shareware version

What is a trial/evaluation version?
A trial/evaluation version is free, fully functional software that is provided for evaluation purposes. A trial/evaluation version allows you to test and use a commercial software title before purchasing it, though the evaluation time is usually limited to a certain period. It can thus be used to test its compatibility and assess its features. If you like the software and would like to use it beyond the evaluation period, you can buy a license to turn the trial/evaluation version (shareware) into the full, unlimited version.
StudyProf is available as a free trial (evaluation version). The evaluation version is not limited but can only be used for a certain trial period. If you would like to use StudyProf beyond that time, you can order the full version here.

How can I turn the free evaluation version/trial into the full, registered version?
When ordering StudyProf via the online order, you will receive a license key via e-mail, which you can use to turn the free trial version into the full, registered version of StudyProf. Doing so, StudyProf will transfer all your user files and settings so that you can continue working immediately. Hence, you do not have to install a separate full version so that you can keep all your files and settings.
Your license key will be shipped with detailed step-by-step instructions on how to unlock the full version of StudyProf. These are the necessary steps:
  1. Start StudyProf.
  2. In the shareware dialog click "register".
  3. Enter the access key provided in your license information.
  4. Enter the licensee and license key provided in your license information. This step is case sensitive. Do not add any additional white spaces! Do not use "copy & paste" but type in the necessary data manually.
  5. Restart your computer and StudyProf for the changes to take effect.

FAQ: Common errors and problems

I've come across a program error. What can I do?
First of all: No program is free of any errors or faults. Software errors may upset you from time to time but they should not hamper you from working. StudyProf has been equipped with a powerful error routine. Each time an error is raised, StudyProf displays an error message providing additional information on the runtime error. This message is saved in a file called "errors.txt" in the sub-directory "error-files" in your StudyProf user directory (see under "My Files"). Under certain circumstances, you are allowed to proceed in the program. Sometimes, though, proceeding is impossible and you need to shut down the application. This is really annoying but cannot always be avoided. That is why you should create regular backups of your work.
If you encounter a specific problem regularly, please do the following: Send us an E-Mail (see contact) and try to describe your problem as exactly as possible. Please enclose the error file(s) and any card stacks that might be affected by this error. We can only help you if you provide us with detailed information!
